WUHAN PNEUMONIA: When did it start?
"Severe Respiratory Disease associated with Novel Infectious Agent” refers to the cluster of viral pneumonia cases occurring in Wuhan, China.
According to information provided by the Mainland health authorities, symptoms of the cases were mainly
•fever
•shortness of breath
Etiology remains unknown and there is currently no vaccine for this infectious disease at the moment.
To prevent pneumonia and respiratory tract infection, members of the public should maintain good personal hygiene at all times and keep both hands clean.
When travelling outside Hong Kong:
- do not touch animals
- do not eat game meat
- avoid visiting wet markets, live poultry markets or farms.
If you have a fever or other symptoms after you return from a foreign country that has reported cases of Wuhan Pneumonia, wear a surgical mask, consult a doctor promptly and reveal your recent travel history.
