1.Three commonest cancers in MEN are 

  • Prostate cancer

  • Lung cancers 

  • Colorectal cancers.

 

2. Three commonest cancers in WOMEN are 

  • Breast cancer

  • Lung cancer 

  • Colorectal cancers

 

3. The 5 most common types of cancer that kill MEN are 

  • Lung cancer

  • Liver cancer

  • Stomach cancer

  • Colorectal cancer

  • Prostate cancer

 

4. The 5 most common types of cancer that kill WOMEN are 

  • Breast cancer

  • Lung cancer

  • Colorectal cancer

  • Cervical cancer

  • Stomach cancer

 

 

5. Breast cancer is more common in the left breast than the right.

 

6. Men can develop breast cancers too, which is very rare. Less than one percent of all breast cancer cases develop in men, and only one in a thousand men will ever be diagnosed with breast cancer.

 

7. There are more than 200 types and subtypes of cancer all over the world.

 

 

8. Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally. It accounts for 1 in 6 deaths around the world.

 

9. Only 5-10% of all cancers are entirely hereditary.

 

10. 30-50% of cancer cases are preventable. Maintaining a healthy body mass index, eating high amounts of fruits and vegetables, exercising regularly, avoiding tobacco use and limiting alcohol use can help reduce the risk of cancer.
