Homegrown DOC2US reshapes digital healthcare
Seamless integration with AIA Malaysia’s My AIA app marks the start of more in-app telemedicine services
Kuala Lumpur, 19 April 2021 - DOC2US, the first and only telemedicine provider in Malaysia in compliance with the Ministry of Health to provide digitally signed e-prescription services, announced today a strategic collaboration with AIA Malaysia to provide virtual health services and wellness programs to the insurer’s individual and corporate customers.
DOC2US has successfully completed full integration with AIA Malaysia’s super app, My AIA, to allow users to gain easy access to virtual health services with just a few taps away. Via a simple and easy interface in My AIA app, users can virtually consult preferred healthcare professionals through text messaging or video call without the hassles of seeing a doctor physically. Once patients receive the e-prescription from doctors at DOC2US, partner pharmacies will then fill the prescription. For patients who opt for doorstep delivery of their medication, their barcoded medication shipments will be delivered by riders trained in safe medication delivery.
“With a comprehensive systems handshake, AIA customers will now be able to use DOC2US’ digital health services directly via their My AIA app without the need to install another app. With this successful rollout, we see huge opportunities in enabling any app to be equipped with telemedicine service,” said Tan Aik Keong, Chief Technology Officer of DOC2US.
Tung Hsiao Ley, Chief Officer of AIA Health Services, said: “We are excited to be working with DOC2US to bring another differentiated service to support our customers’ various healthcare needs, all from the comfort and safety of their own home. This partnership also marks an important milestone in our timely foray into digital health services, as we continuously enhance and expand our Total Health Solution ecosystem to help people live healthier, longer, and better every day.”
The technology used in DOC2US was developed by a team of local engineers led by Tan, while the team had begun integration testing and running trials as early as January 2020. On top of the in-app integration with My AIA, DOC2US is the only virtual health advisory platform integrated with the MySejahtera app. It also enables Country Garden to have telemedicine for their residents and serves as an online neighbourhood family doctor. DOC2US has also integrated its telemedicine platform into MiCare MyMed app to enable clients and employees to consult doctors online and get medications delivered to doorstep seamlessly.
Besides that, DOC2US has collaborated with the largest private laboratory network in the region, Gribbles Pathology, to provide a smooth experience to patients and consumers when it comes to lab e-requests and real-time reviews with doctors online. It also partners with Malaysia’s largest prescription pharmacy chain, Alpro Pharmacy, in processing and dispensing e-prescription while with the leading domestic & international express delivery service provider, GDEX, in providing last-mile medication delivery to patients. DOC2US is not only making health services to be more accessible but offering a convenient one-stop solution at one’s fingertips.
“At DOC2US, we truly believe in hyper-localization and hence our homegrown solution is built by Malaysians for Malaysians with the aim to improve health and wellbeing of our people. These collaborations will not only improve patents’ experiences and engagement in healthcare, but also scale up the health landscape through high quality digital solutions and technology,” said Dr Raymond Choy, Chief Executive Officer of DOC2US.
